Portrait session in Italy – Make like a Tree – Sergey Onischenko

Sergey comes from Ukraine and he’s a folk musician that wander around Europe with his guitar bringing his lovely music everywhere. He spent the last three years traveling and singing.

When he mailed me about a portrait session in Italy I immediately ran to listen to his songs that really moved me. His name as musician is ‘Make like a Tree’ and his sound is really connected to Nature and life – listen to his works here.
So I imagined to portray him in the middle of a forest surrounded by trees and waterfalls.

One of this year’s my personal goal is to shoot more portraits, so for me his mail was like a sign to me, a great opportunity to take.

We met on a Sunday afternoon in Verona and moved to a nearby wood that offered the perfect scenario. For me and Gianni it was an amazing privilege to hear him play his guitar in the middle of a forest, with the sound of the little waterfalls and the first signs of Autumn’s coming.
