A touch of pale blue and italian vibes for this enchanted same sex wedding at Tenuta la Presa

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to enter a world where time seems to stand still? Where every moment is captured in all its spontaneous beauty, forever stopped in a timeless photograph?

Imagine being surrounded by the Verona countryside, among olive groves and vineyards that have witnessed centuries of history. Picture yourself walking here, filling your senses with wonder and enchantment.

This magical setting served as the backdrop for a same-sex wedding that I had the honor of photographing at Tenuta la Presa in Verona last September.

Riccardo and Nick, from London to Verona to celebrate their love

Riccardo and Nick live in London and as soon as they set foot in Tenuta la Presa for a vacation, they immediately knew it would be the perfect place to celebrate their wedding. The timeless charm of the porch and the enchanted atmosphere of the olive garden captivated them, and they envisioned celebrating here, surrounded by their closest family and friends. For the organization, they entrusted Sonia and the Foorevent weddings team, who skillfully turned their dream into reality.

An imperial table dream with a touch of blue

After the ceremony in the olive garden, the couple surprised their guests with a cocktail in the inner courtyard of the estate. Their beloved Teddy Bears, companions on every journey, were also there and even participated in the ceremony. The couple is very attached to them, and so they couldn’t miss such an important moment!
But the highlight was undoubtedly the marvelous imperial table decorated with blue and white hydrangeas. A true poem! Especially in contrast with the rustic style of the portico, very Italian-style. Blue was the common thread throughout the day, from the flowers to the couple’s attire to the guests’ style.

After a grand entrance with music and dancing, and dinner, the couple amazed everyone with a flawless romantic first dance under the stars, kicking off the festivities.

The experience

Riccardo and Nick entrusted me with their most precious memories with a specific request. They wanted authenticity; they wanted to relive the emotions of their day without any artificiality. It wasn’t difficult for me to capture these emotions, thanks to the atmosphere of the day and the heartfelt ceremony in the olive garden.

The couple’s session, in particular, is a moment I cherish, and it’s all about them. It shouldn’t create anxiety or stress. Tying a memory to the experience means ensuring my couples are well above all else. Authentic and engaging memories through photographs naturally follow.

Kind words from the grooms

“When checking out Giovanna’s portfolio, it was clear that photos are reflections of emotions and not just portraits. Giovanna and Mirko are warm and professional people. From the first moment we met, we felt the connection was just right. Both photographers made us feel at ease, especially on our big day. As if they were part of the family. No rush, no pressure. That also comes back in our photos. Each photo makes us revisit a specific moment and the emotions that come with it.

Thanks for making memories together with us.”

Nick’s words moved me. “Making memories with us” means a lot to me because I deeply believe in linking memories to the experiences they’ve lived. Only then will their memories be authentic. That’s why it’s essential for me to create a connection with my couples to always deliver the best.
