Colors and Italian beauty for this refined wedding in villa Rizzardi
A colorful and refined destination wedding at Villa Rizzardi in the heart of Valpolicella
Villa Rizzardi is one of the most iconic venues in Verona, and this destination wedding is a perfect example of how a wedding there can be thoughtful yet joyful and spontaneous.

Surrounded by historic gardens and ancient architecture, this wedding at Villa Rizzardi was designed as a complete experience for the bride and groom and their guests. Everything was kept light throughout the day, leaving plenty of room for emotion and beauty.
A refined wedding experience in Villa Rizzardi
This villa is the ideal setting for couples dreaming of an outdoor summer wedding amidst enchanting views.
Anna and Julius’s destination wedding is an example of how a celebration can unfold through different spaces, moments, and atmospheres within the same location.
In this article, I’ll tell you what makes Villa Rizzardi so special for a wedding and how a complete wedding day unfolds, from preparations to the evening celebration, and how photography can enhance the experience, as well as immortalize the most beautiful moments.
Getting ready in the villa
Anna and Julius live in Monaco and chose Valpolicella as the setting for their wedding in Italy.
They gathered their closest friends and family here, welcoming everyone the evening before the wedding with a wonderful Welcome Dinner under the stars, including aperitifs and a pasta and pizza show cooking. You can see it here!
The color yellow was the leitmotif of both days, characterizing the details and floral arrangements.
The wedding day began with the bride and groom getting ready in the upper rooms of Villa Rizzardi.
Anna shared this moment with her mother and friends, laughing and dancing. Immediately after the preparations, Julius treated himself to a toast with his closest friends before the ceremony began. It was a sunny day in late June, and the weather allowed the newlyweds to fully enjoy every space in the villa.

My approach during the getting ready is always empathetic—I offer support when needed, while also leaving room for authenticity and connection.
The most emotional moment? The bride’s first look with her father, truly touching!

Una cerimonia colorata nella Chiesa di Torbe
The ceremony took place in the Church of Torbe, a location with a unique view of the hills, not far from Villa Rizzardi.
A long isle was decorated with colorful floral arrangements, creating a joyful and elegant contrast with the historic light-colored stone architecture. The atmosphere perfectly reflected the couple’s vision and personalities. The effect was that of an enchanted garden, awash with summer colors.

As a wedding photographer at Villa Rizzardi, during the ceremony I focused on light, movement, and emotion, such as a glimpse between the bride and her mother and the small gestures between the newlyweds.

Aperitivo and Italian lunch in the garden
After the ceremony, guests returned to the villa for a long Italian aperitif followed by lunch, immersed in the villa’s gardens.
This part of the day embodied the true essence of a convivial Italian-style wedding, with live music and toasts.

From a photographic perspective, this lightness allows me to create more authentic images that will become a precious memory for the spouses and their guests.

Afternoon break and change of clothes
One of the most distinctive elements of this wedding at Villa Rizzardi was the intentional break in the afternoon.
The bride and groom and their guests had time to rest and change into their outfits, preparing for the evening celebration. The dress code elevated the atmosphere while maintaining an elegant and coherent tone:
- tuxedos for men
- long evening gowns for the women
This transition marked the beginning of a second chapter of the day, with a relaxed yet elegant mood.
To celebrate this moment, the bride and groom treated themselves to a first look with their friends, a truly captivating moment.

A magic dinner under the stars in viale dei Carpini
As the late afternoon light softened, guests were welcomed to dinner at an imperial table set up along the hornbeam avenue of Villa Rizzardi.
The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, refined without being stuffy. Long table and the thoughtful details, reflecting the natural beauty of the trees, created an immersive experience. The table setting, composed of mixed vases of cut flowers and candles, was curated by Il fiore all’occhiello.

First dance and party in the amphitheater
The evening continued in the villa’s amphitheater, where the newlyweds shared their first dance, surrounded by friends and family. From there, the celebration naturally transformed into a vibrant and heartfelt celebration—the perfect conclusion to an enchanting day.
