Wedding Photography: how empathy with your photographer can make the difference
When it comes to wedding photography, it’s not just about the style to consider. Choosing the photographer is an important decision that will influence the memories you will cherish for the rest of your life. Indeed, the wedding day is the only day when you will have all the important people by your side, gathered in the same place, ready to celebrate with you, and the photographs will allow you to relive a day that has been so long planned and awaited.
In addition to technical competence and style, there is an element often underestimated but equally important to consider in wedding photography: empathy. Personally, it is fundamental for me to empathize with my couples to provide them with the best possible experience when shooting. So I’ll be sure that their memories will be authentic and fully reflect them.

Build a meaningful bond with your photographer
The photographer is not just another vendor you’ve chosen and who will be busy working at your wedding. The photographer is with you throughout the day, from preparations to the party. Have you thought about what kind of person you would like to have by your side during such intimate moments? In addition, it is normal to feel uncomfortable when being photographed.
I want you to reflect on the importance of having a discreet person who understands when help is needed or simply takes a step back and stops shooting.
When you choose a photographer for your wedding, you are not just hiring a professional to capture the images of the day. You are choosing someone who will be present in one of the most intimate and significant moments of your life.
Empathy is what allows you to create a meaningful bond with your photographer, enabling you to feel comfortable at every moment, even in front of the camera.

The foundation for building your authentic memories
To obtain authentic memories, where in your wedding photos you see ‘you’ and not just two well-dressed people in static poses, it is necessary to get to know each other, establish a relationship of trust. For me, your experience should be at the center of the photographic service. A wedding photographer who approaches with empathy does not just take photos, he/she needs to connect with you. My approach involves, for example, offering support and advice even during the organization of the wedding, putting my experience at your service to assist you. Don’t be afraid to confide, knowing in advance if there are tense relationships or delicate situations in your families will help me to act with gentleness in all situations.

The right atmosphere starts with trust
When you trust your photographer without reservations and without barriers, your tension decreases. Let me give you a practical example: our faces have many muscles that are often contracted unconsciously when we are tense. Even if the lighting and composition of the shot are carefully handled, if this tension is present, you won’t recognize yourself in the final photo. And it will be difficult to understand why, leading you and your partner to think you are not photogenic. In reality, my work doesn’t start from photography itself but from trust. If there’s someone behind the camera who makes you feel comfortable, it will be easier to relax and have photos that truly reflect you and that you will enjoy looking at even many years later. Trust is reflected in your photographs, conveying a sense of authenticity and connection with your partner that is evident to anyone who looks at them.

Memorable Experience = Authentic Memories
It’s a simple equation, although not so obvious: if you are having a beautiful experience, you will have wonderful memories. The photographs are just a consequence. My goal is to make you forget about the camera and create a ‘bubble’ of intimacy between you that allows you to enjoy the moment. Of course, there will be moments when I will give you directions to enhance yourselves, but even these directions will still aim to make you feel comfortable. By listening to and observing you, I understand whether you need to be directed or if you need space; in that case, I step back. Choosing an empathetic photographer means just that: you will always be treated with care and attention to your mood.

The right person for you
I often say: in wedding photography there is no right photographer for everyone, there is the right photographer for you. And I feel it too when the right couples come to me; they are people whom I know I can do an extraordinary job and fully express myself. For me, your trust is essential, ensuring that I give all my attention to your story and to you. Then the photos, the style, the colors, the compositions. But first, there must be emotional connection.
In the world of wedding photography, empathy is a quality that can truly make a difference. When you choose your photographer, don’t overlook the importance of finding someone who is not only technically competent but also empathetic and in tune with you and your vision of the special day. With the right photographer by your side, you can experience your wedding with serenity, knowing that your memories will be captured with love and authenticity.
